Egge IL was one of 22 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Trønderavisas Fotballcup 2022. They participated with two teams in Gutter 13 (født 2009) and Jenter 13(født 2009) respectively. The team in Jenter 13(født 2009) made it to the the Final in Slutspel B, but lost it against Steinkjer FK - Fotball by 1-5.

In addition to this, Egge IL have participated in Trønderavisas Fotballcup before. During Trønderavisas Fotballcup 2021, Egge had one team playing in Gutter 14 (født 2007).

Egge originates from Steinkjer, which is the same city as where Trønderavisas Fotballcup takes place. The area around Steinkjer does also provide 11 additional clubs participating during Trønderavisas Fotballcup 2022 (Among others: Sp.kl. Nessegutten, Verdal IL, Følling IL, Vuku IL, Vinne/Verdal, Verdal/Vinne, Steinkjer/Sørlia/Sparbu, Egge IL 9èr, Steinkjer FK - Fotball and Beitstad FK).
